A round dance wedding song for solemn feasts. Usually it was sung after the wedding ceremony while the bride was led from the church to the groom’s house. Moreover it was sung (in Potámia as well as in Sinasós) for a second time at the departure of the guests.
Time signature: 2/4
Mode: Diatonic D within the range of a minor sixth. The inner tones of the D – G tetrachord function within the gravitation of the outer ones. Degree V slightly flattened.
