Μπεράτι Μετσόβου
Danced at weddings when the relatives accompanied the bride and the groom to the church.
A dance from Southern Epirus. It takes its name from the town of Metsovo. Note the more cheerful character and the more playful rhythm of this Berati in comparison to the earlier one from Northern Epirus (Berati of Epirus). The influence of the folk-music of Southern Greece is obvious.
Aris Fakinos (1984)
Studio recording (1983), in Paris, France.
