According to the singer from Floytá, Paraskevás Tsaloglou (Mezarcik):
“This song was sung on festive occasions. At evening gatherings, people would sing it accompanied by the bouzouki and the tambourine. One of them would get up and dance, playing the spoons. This was a typical form of entertainment that followed christenings, weddings, Easter, and other major celebrations, with friends and relatives gathered indoors. On such occasions, both men and women danced. The Turks, however, never used to sing this song – but it was widespread in all the surrounding villages”.
