Χανιώτικος συρτός
The syrtos is a mixed, circular dance that is one of the principal dances performed at all Cretan festivities. Although in terms of the dance itself the name haniotikos has prevailed, the melodies vary in name from region to region.
Studio recording (1960s). Released on an extended play 45 rpm disc (Philips 427037), supervised by Domna Samiou (Recordings on 45 RPM). In 2008, Yiorgos Tsambras included the track in the CD collection Mousiko Odiporiko 1959-1969 (Universal Music, 2008).
