Χασαποσέρβικος
The hasaposervikos or servikos is a quick, easy dance (six slops in a 2/4 rhythm) which provides the dancers with ample opportunities to display their skill. The dancers hold onto each other’s shoulders. Its name hints at its history, as it is believed to be an extended, fast version of the politiko (Constantinopolitan) hasapiko or hasapia, influenced by the musical traditions of other peoples from the Balkans and Eastern Europe. Older generations of musicians called serviko the kazatska (Cossack dance). Like the traditional hasapikos, the hasaposervikos owes its current form and popularity throughout Greece to its inclusion in the rebetiko repertoire.
