Γκάιντα
A tune and dance known as ‘gaida.’ It is popular throughout Macedonia with small variations from place to place. It is a tune typically played with a gaida (bagpipe), which is why it is named as such. In cases where the tune is played with other instruments such as the clarinet, the clarinet mimics the sound of the gaida.
Studio recording, 1963. Released in 45 rpm disc (Fidelity 7306, 1964) supervised by Domna Samiou (Recordings in 45 RPM). Later, in 2008, Yiorgos Tsambras included the track in the CD collection Mousiko Odiporiko 1959-1969 (Universal Music, 2008).
