Φυσούνι
An organic tune in 9/8 rhythm (2-2-2-3) from the Preveza region. The name of the dance derives from the name of the tune that accompanies it. Unlike the rest of the region’s repertoire, the Fisouni tune is faster. It is a circular dance, mainly performed by women.
Studio recording (1959). Released on an extended play 78 and 45 rpm discs (Fidelity 77047 και 7047, 1959), supervised by Domna Samiou (Recordings in 45 RPM). In 2008, Yiorgos Tsambras included the track in the CD collection Mousiko Odiporiko 1959-1969 (Universal Music, 2008).
