Home / Her Work / Song Catalogue / Castle, What Has Happened to Your Towers
– Castle, what has happened to your towers and your belfries?
And where are all those gallant lads, those fine upstanding fellows?
– Ah me, those gallant lads of mine, those fine upstanding fellows,
the gloomy earth enjoys them now in dark and Stygian Hades.
I bear no grudge against the Turk, nor malice to old Charon,
but I loathe and malice bear against that cur of a damned traitor
who did betray them to my loss.
Translated by John Leatham
