Born in 1946 in Olympos, Karpathos, he worked in his village with leathercraft and the making of local boots (stivania) and slippers. He also had a great love for the sea and fishing.
A self-taught player of the laouto (lute) and lyra, he continued the tradition of Karpathian music. He actively participated in village festivals, weddings, baptisms, and gatherings at Olympos’ cafés until 1975. That same year, he emigrated to the United States, where he stayed for 15 years. Together with Antonis Stamatiadis on the lyra, from the village of Spoa, they performed at various events organized by associations or private individuals.
In 1990, he moved to Piraeus with his large family. He performed many times at gatherings organized by the Olympos Association “Dimitra”, as well as in videos produced by the village collective for the Christmas carols. For several years, alongside Stamatiadis on lyra and Manolis Felouzis on lute, he also played at the Pylian Association in Piraeus.
