Lambros Goumenos

Philologist originally from Kerasovo (present-day Kerasonas) in Preveza. In Kerasovo, traditional songs are still performed today, mainly wedding songs, Lazarus songs, and songs of the Easter kangelari.

In the 1980s, while teaching at a high school in Chios, he recorded nine songs from his native region on his cassette recorder. In July 1981, when Domna Samiou visited Chios for a concert at the “Omireio Cultural Center”, he met her and handed her the cassette to be included in her archive.

Three of these songs (Giannos and Vangelio, The Young Vlach’s Song, and Snow White Girl) were included by Domna Samiou in albums released by the Association.
