Τζιβαέρι
An example of kathistiki music or music for the table. It consists of a slow introduction for santur (dulcimer, santouri) and a main section on 4/4 time. The santur resembles the cimbalom and comprises three or four octaves. Each note is produced by three strings tuned in unison.
The strings are struck by two slender sticks, the striking edge of which is wrapped in cotton or leather.
