Panagiotis Kokontinis

(1918-2000). Clarinetist of traditional music. He was born in Ampelohori, Thebes and died in Athens. During the German Occupation (WW II) he participated in the National Resistance. He was tortured, exiled and imprisoned in Makronissos, Gyaros and Aegina until 1952.

In the 1960s he recorded 45 rpm records for the Fidelity and Minerva labels, under the musical supervision of Domna Samiou.

He had collaborated with many Greek singers such as Stelios Kazantzidis, Giota Lydia, Andreas Tsaousis and others.
