Lambriana Doitsidi

Born in 1955, she became an active member of her family’s musical ensemble from an early age and developed into one of the defining interpreters of Thracian song, with a significant presence in recordings and performances in Greece and abroad. Together with her father, Karyofyllis Doitsidis, and her sister, Theopoula, they have released many records, both personal and in collaboration with other artists.

This edition aims to convey the spirit of Easter, the Christian feast celebrated amidst the glory and promise of springtime, through the selected rituals of that period of the year and their related sacred songs and tunes.

Invited by Lina Lalandi, founder of the English Bach Festival and clavichordist, Domna Samiou made five appearances in the festival, presenting, in what could be the first time, the authentic traditional music of Greece to the English audience.
