Born in the village Galatini, Kozani, in Central Macedonia. He is a high school teacher and researcher of Greek traditional music.
He was taught the art of clarinet by local musicians as well as famous virtuosos, such as Vangelis Soukas, Thanasis Chaliyannis, and Tassos Chalkias.
