Fr. Υeorgios D. Metallinos

(1940–2019) | Born in Corfu, where he completed his secondary education.

He earned degrees in Theology (1958–1962) and Philology (1964–1967) from the University of Athens. Between 1969 and 1975, he studied theology, philology, philosophy, history, and sociology in West Germany (Bonn and Cologne). In 1971, he entered the ranks of the clergy in Germany. He held a doctorate in Theology from Athens and doctorates in Philosophy and History from Cologne.

From 1984, he served as a professor at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Athens and was Dean of the Faculty from 2004 to 2007, when he retired.

He served as a clergyman at the University Church of Saint Antipas at the Athens Dental School. He was a member of numerous scholarly associations and represented the Church of Greece and Cyprus at international conferences.
