The Department of Greek Dances of the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Kalyvia was founded in 1993 and includes participants aged 5 to 65.
The Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Kalyvia organises a wide range of educational and cultural activities, such as dance workshops, concerts, revivals of local customs, museum visits, cultural excursions, and theatre outings. Since 2008, alongside the dance department, departments of traditional singing and traditional percussion have also been in operation.
The group has participated in various festivals in neighbouring municipalities, across Greece, and abroad. It took part in two performances of Domna Samiou at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, while in June 2002 it honoured her with the performance “Musical Travelogue: Following the Footsteps of Domna Samiou”, a music and dance tribute to her significant work.
