Aspasia Papadaki

The first female lyra-player in Crete. She was born in 1932 in Plaka, a village in the Apokoronas province of the Chania prefecture, to a musical family. Her father, Frangios Papadakis, played the lute, and was the brother of the famous lyra-player Michalis Papadakis or Plakianos. Her own brother, Pavlos Papadakis, played the lute and sang, and was her primary collaborator since her first steps.

Domnia Samiou presented her in 1977 in the TV program Musical Travelogue with Domna Samiou – Western Crete.
