Children’s Choir of the mixed High School ‘Estia Neas Smyrnis’

Domna Samiou taught children's songs to the children’s choir of the "Estia Neas Smyrnis" Cultural Centre in 1974 and 1980. The songs were recorded and incorporated into the records Greek Carols, Perperouna, and later, other musical collections as well.

The first LP in Greece dedicated to carolling songs performed during the religious celebrations of the Twelve Nights and of Easter. The carols were recorded in many different areas of Greece performed by local musicians and singers, thus preserving all the distinguishing local patterns and characteristics.
Domna’s first work for children came as a fulfilment of her constant aspiration to bring traditional folk songs closer to children –especially those living in the cities.
